About

Established in 1954

Welcome to Harker’s Farm Shop at Blackberry Farm, established in 1954 and now proudly into our third generation with Samuel at the helm. His mum, Tracy, continues to play a central role in keeping everything running smoothly. Alongside our excellent team of butchers and support staff. Together, we’re committed to bringing you fresh, local produce with the same care and tradition that has guided our family for over seventy years.

Blackberry Farm Family

Our Story

Blackberry Farm has always been a family business. It began with Rupert and Doz Harker’s passion for farming in the 1950s, when they settled at Blackberry Farm on the rolling Nottinghamshire Wolds. From those early years tending livestock and working the fields, their dedication to quality and honesty laid the foundations for what the farm has become today.

Over time, neighbours would come to the farmhouse for fresh meat and produce, just as generations had done with local farms before us. That sense of connection to the community remains at the heart of the farm shop today; a place where customers are not only welcomed but remembered.

Generations of Farming

The same pastures that Rupert and Doz once tended now support Samuel’s herds and flocks, linking past to present in the most tangible way. Across three generations, farming knowledge and values have been handed down: respect for the land, care for the animals, and the belief that good food starts with good farming.

The countryside itself tells part of the story. Ridge-and-furrow patterns from medieval ploughing are still visible in nearby fields, while ancient bridleways and footpaths wind past the farm, echoing centuries of rural life. To visit Harker’s today is to step into that living history – one where tradition meets community and continuity.

More Than Just Shopping…

A visit to Harker’s is about more than filling a basket. Families can enjoy the viewing field with goats, sheep, and alpacas. While children delight in the ride-on tractor area and mini farm shop playhouse. Surrounded by countryside walks and bridleways, Blackberry Farm is a perfect place to stretch your legs before heading home with your shopping.

And if you’d like to stay longer, our cosy Airbnb cottage offers a rural retreat. Whether for a weekend break, a peaceful reset, or simply a comfortable base for work in the area.
