blackberry farm history

“When you step into Harker’s Farm Shop at Blackberry Farm, you’re stepping into more than just a place to shop — you’re walking into over seventy years of farming history in the Nottinghamshire Wolds.”

~ Samuel Harker

A Family Tradition Since 1954

Blackberry Farm has been home to the Harker family for three generations. Rupert and Doz Harker first began farming here in 1954, guided by their belief in quality, honesty, and care for the land. Those values have been handed down through the family, with Samuel Harker now leading the business alongside his mum, Tracy, and a dedicated team of butchers and farm shop staff.

Blackberry Farm Today

The farm remains at the heart of everything we do. Cattle and lambs graze the same rolling pastures that Rupert and Doz once tended, while visitors can enjoy meeting goats, sheep, and alpacas in the viewing field. Surrounded by ancient bridleways and countryside footpaths, Blackberry Farm has become a welcoming stop for walkers, families, and food lovers alike.

A Living Legacy

For nearly 70 years, Blackberry Farm has stood for trust, traceability, and tradition. From the farmhouse kitchen sales of the 1950s to today’s thriving farm shop, the link between land, food, and community has remained unbroken. Whether you’re stocking up on fresh produce, introducing the children to the animals, or enjoying a rural retreat in our cosy Airbnb cottage, you’re taking part in that living legacy.
